Grimsby Institute works in partnership with some of the region’s leading employers, delivering training that helps people develop the skills they need to succeed in their chosen industry.
An apprenticeship is a real job with training. It allows you to earn while you learn, gain valuable experience, achieve a recognised qualification, and get paid.
Apprentices have the same rights as other employees and are entitled to holiday pay and other company benefits.
Apprenticeships vary in length depending on the level and sector, typically lasting between 8 and 54 months. They are available from Level 2 up to Level 7 and are a great way to build skills and progress in your career.
Apprenticeships are available to anyone aged 16 or over and living in England. Entry requirements are considered on an individual basis, ensuring you receive the right support to succeed and reach your full potential.
The current apprenticeship minimum wage is £8.00 per hour (from 1 April 2026), although many employers choose to pay more. Pay can vary depending on the sector, role, and location.
There is a national website dedicated to apprenticeship jobs, which you can access here
