Sport

If you love sport then we have something just for you at the Grimsby Institute. Push your passion to the next level by studying with us. Training in state-of-the-art purpose built facilities, work your way up to a career in sport. Our facilities include a doublesized sports hall, fully equipped fitness studio, outdoor floodlit multi-use games area (MUGA), dance studio and commercial sports therapy clinic. You will have the opportunity to playing in a number of Grimsby Institute teams that take part in local, regional and national leagues.

Students will also have the opportunity to be part of our Football Performance Programme (FPP), the full-time under 19 education package available exclusive to Grimsby Institute students.

Public Services

The Public Services course offers you a great insight into life as a member of the Police, Fire Brigade, Royal Navy or Army, Royal Air Force and other services such as Paramedics. Teamwork, fitness and leadership form the foundation of the course where you will take part in fitness sessions, adventure activities, drills and exercises to prepare you for life in some of the most physically demanding and vital job roles there are. Work experience opportunities include placements in local youth organisations, schools and events with the RAF, Royal Marines and the Army.

The key areas of the main programme you focus on in this area are teamwork, leadership and community engagement, as these are the skills needed to work effectively with other people in any job role.

Sport

You will have the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of sports and methods of exercise and training during this course. Playing sports and training others will be something that you will be doing every day, whilst also spending time in the classroom learning about anatomy and physiology.
