NET UK and Maersk Training Launch Groundbreaking Fully Funded Green Skills Bootcamps
Bootcamps in Greater Lincolnshire.
National Employer Training (part of the TEC Partnership) and Maersk Training are excited to announce the launch of Green Skills Bootcamps in Greater Lincolnshire, a pioneering initiative under the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee. These Bootcamps are funded through the Greater Lincolnshire LEP via the Department for Education, supported by the Department of Working Pensions (DWP) and are the first fully funded provision of their kind in the area, providing individuals and businesses with essential skills and knowledge to excel in the expanding renewables sector.
The Green Skills Bootcamps offer three comprehensive pathways tailored to different needs within the wind industry and are delivered in an intensive three-week long block, running from 8am-4pm:
Maersk Training UK is a leading provider of specialised training for the offshore, maritime, and energy sectors. Known for its high-quality, practical, hands-on courses, Maersk Training equips industry professionals with essential skills and safety knowledge to enhance operational safety, efficiency, and performance.
The programmes are fully funded for unemployed and self-employed individuals. 90% funded for small and medium businesses and 70% funded for large businesses. There are certain eligibility criteria in order to take advantage of the Skills Bootcamps: Applicants must be 19 years or older as of 31st August 2023. They must live within Greater Lincolnshire and have the right to live and work in the UK.

This partnership enables us to give back to the local area and offer exceptional training to local individuals entering the wind industry, providing them with invaluable opportunities to excel in this dynamic field.”
Sally Riley, Skills Adviser for DWP added: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Maersk and National Employer Training on the Green Skills Bootcamp. We are expecting exponential growth in this sector locally with the new windfarms that are going to be built in the North Sea. The Green Skills Bootcamps will provide our customers with opportunities to retrain and gain new skills and industry-relevant experience.”
