As one of England’s largest providers of further and higher education, we have a rich history of developing innovative training and education solutions for communities across Lincolnshire, Yorkshire, and the Humber.
Chloe Tate, Executive Director of Business Engagement, is excited to work with businesses that want to shape the future of education and build lasting pathways for the next generation of workers.
Chloe led a tour of the recently refurbished campus with eight renowned employers from the region, demonstrating how our facilities support students. Funded by a Department for Education Transformation Grant, the Grimsby Institute has recently invested over a million pounds into refurbishments of the campus’s refectory, student zones, and University Centre lounge, creating a vibrant new hub for socialising and learning.
Lee Carr, Head of Automotive, Fabrication and Welding, Foundations, was on hand to give a tour of our Elite Centre, a sustainable energy engineering hub, which was developed in collaboration with the Greater Lincolnshire LEP and supported by Midlands Engine.
Our guests then stepped into an AI world in an immersive room demonstration led by Louis Deane, founder of VISR Dynamics and Heather Hannah, Digital Transformation Lead. Our immersive VR room was funded through the Greater Lincolnshire Local Skills Improvement Fund (LSIF) to introduce young people to the digital industry.
Networking then took place in our new Samphire restaurant, operated by our hospitality students. Chloe shared further insights with our guests on how the Grimsby Institute can support their businesses with a wide range of services, not only limited to training!
