We are really excited to welcome all our FE and some HE students back on 8 March. Your Curriculum Managers and Programme Leaders will be in touch with specific details, but here are the key things you need to know for now. Please read carefully the details which apply to you.
Grimsby Institute (FE)
Face Coverings
The government have asked that face coverings are now worn indoors where social distancing cannot be maintained. This now includes our teaching spaces, which means we are requesting that you wear a face covering in class. Existing exemptions for students with medical conditions will still be in place as are exemptions for our hearing-impaired students and staff.
Face coverings must be worn on college transport, unless you have a legitimate exemption.
Testing
We already have a testing facility in the Corner Lounge at the University Centre. This will remain, but it will be joined by other facilities at Skegness, The Academy Grimsby and our Nunsthorpe Campus.
You will be offered the opportunity to take 3 lateral flow tests when you start back on 8 March. The tests should be 3-5 days apart. After this point we will make home testing kits available for learners who want them. All Covid testing is voluntary and we will send you information on how to book a test shortly.
Friday 5th March
Friday 5th will be a non-teaching day for you and your teachers. This is so your teachers can come into the building and make sure everything is organised and ready and to allow you a day to get everything ready you need for the following week.
University Centre Grimsby (HE)
We are closely following government guidance and have had to make some difficult decisions about which courses we can welcome back to delivery.
The following is a list of courses which we have selected that can return to study from the 8 March. Please note on some courses not all levels are being invited in so you need to check the level as well as the title.
