Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education (GIFHE) is delighted to announce its latest Fabrication and Welding partnership with engineering group, Worley. Working in partnership with Worley, the global providers of professional project and asset services in the energy, chemicals, and resources sectors will give learners the opportunity to undertake quality work experience and apprenticeship placements.
Joel Broddle, Grimsby Institute Curriculum Manager Fabrication and Welding, also commented: “We are excited to be starting our partnership with Worley. As a college and a department, it is vital that we have the support of local engineering companies and I am proud that Worley, who are one of the leading local employers in our industry, have chosen us to train their next generation of tradespeople. Worley have been excellent at supporting our current learners with work experience and this is something we are looking to build on in the future. Worley and Grimsby Institute are committed to training local people in what can be such a rewarding industry. This is just the start and I am looking forward to how this relationship grows.”
Since finalising the partnership in May this year, a number of learners have completed their work experience with Worley already. Level 3 Fabrication and Welding learner Reece Kirk recently completed his work experience at Worley, he said: “Worley has been an amazing opportunity for me to find new skills and meet new people and has opened my eyes to what I want to do in the future. I would certainly recommend it.”
