Level 3 – Available for progressing learners with the appropriate Level 2 and Maths and English GCSE qualifications.
During this course, you will have the opportunity to learn and perfect a variety of beauty treatments including, manicures, pedicures, waxing, lash & brow treatments and facials.
The beauty salons here at Grimsby Institute are always a buzz with helpful clients that you are able to work with to perfect your skills; you can even book in your friends and family to practise your skills on!
If there aren’t any clients available you are able to practise on each other, so everyone has perfect nails and immaculate brows.
The salons are full of award-winning brands that are nationally recognised, so you get to practise with products and equipment that you’ll be using once you’ve qualified.
You’ll also have the opportunity to go on exciting trips; previous trips include a three-day visit to Paris to see educational seminars for hair, beauty and media make-up. Bonjour!

Work experience is a mandatory portion of the Beauty Therapy course. Learners will work in local Beauty salons to gain valuable industry experience.
A variety of helpful trips, visits and guest speakers will be made available to you during your time on this course, including, Industry week with demonstrations from local employers and guest artists. In house and national competitions such as AHTs and World Skills. Trips to Hair and Beauty UK and Salon International. CIBTAC and a masterclass in Beauty blogging.

Once you are training in beauty therapy you could work in salons or consider self-employment. You could also consider applying for apprenticeship at Level 3.
