Grimsby Institute Celebrates 80th Anniversary with a Spectacular Family Fun Day

The Grimsby Institute marked its 80th anniversary with a Family Fun Day on Saturday 8^th June, drawing thousands of the local community to join in the celebrations. The event was a huge success, embodying the Institute’s spirit of giving back to the community that has supported it over the decades.

The sun shined brightly as families and friends gathered to enjoy a day filled with free rides, food stalls, performances, and crafts. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement, reflecting the Institute’s commitment to building a strong and vibrant community.

Ann Hardy, CEO of TEC Partnership, expressed her gratitude and excitement for the day: “As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, we are thrilled to share this milestone with everyone who has been part of our journey. This event is part of a year-long series of celebrations honouring the Institute’s rich history. Established in 1944, the Grimsby Institute has grown from its initial 2,000 students to over 16,500 students today, offering more than 93,000 qualifications. The Institute’s evolution and success are a testament to its dedication to education and community development.

In addition to the Family Fun Day, the Grimsby Institute has planned several other events throughout 2024, including the unveiling of the reimagined Grim and Havelock statue later in the year. These celebrations reflect the Institute’s ongoing commitment to innovation, excellence, and community engagement.
