The TEC Partnership: Prioritising Student Success

The TEC Partnership is thrilled to share the fantastic feedback from its higher education students in the latest National Student Survey. The results highlight the positive impact the Partnership has on students’ educational journeys and their future prospects.

Across the three core areas of teaching, learning opportunities and assessment and feedback, the TEC Partnership achieved an overall positivity score of 90.6%, 6.4 percentage points better than the national benchmark and 2.3 percentage points higher than the regional average across other institutions.

Students at the TEC Partnership’s East Riding College and University Centre Grimsby campuses shared their thoughts on their experience, praising the quality of teaching, learning opportunities, and the support they receive. The survey confirms that students feel well-supported and equipped to succeed in their local communities and beyond.

The survey results show that students feel their courses are taught exceptionally well. For the University Centre Grimsby, the positive feedback on teaching has seen a significant increase since 2023, showing a real improvement in how students feel about their learning environment.

Students also gave high praise for the feedback they receive on their work and how it helps them to improve. This is especially true at East Riding College, where students’ satisfaction with assessment and feedback has noticeably improved over the past couple of years.

The survey also confirmed that students feel they are getting excellent learning opportunities. This means they are not only learning a lot in their courses but also getting the skills and experiences they need to thrive.

Nathan Michael, Chief Education and Training Officer of the TEC Partnership, commented on the results:

We’re delighted that our higher education students have independently elected to give us such high praise, and we’re incredibly proud of what we have achieved. It continues to build upon our Teaching Excellence Framework gold award for Student Experience.

Our National Student Survey results are a reflection of our commitment to providing a first-in-class education, through the dedication and talent of our staff and the outstanding opportunities provided by both local and national employers.”
