STUDENTS CELEBRATE A LEVEL RESULTS DAY AT CAREER 6

Students from Career 6 are celebrating receiving their A Level and Vocational results today, with some subjects achieving a 100% pass rate and many students securing their first choice university place.

Career 6, which is part of the TEC Partnership, offers students ‘A Levels done differently’, giving them the opportunity to specialise in a number of pathways including Crime & Society, Forensics & Criminal Investigation and Health & Medical.

Katy, who pursued the Forensic & Criminal Investigation pathway, achieved results equivalent to AAA at A Level. She said, “I’ve enjoyed everything at Career 6. The support was amazing, and I’ve had someone to talk to every step of the way.” Katy is set to continue her studies in Criminology & Forensic Science at Northumbria University, with aspirations of becoming a detective.

Abby, from the Health and Medical pathway, achieved a triple distinction – equivalent to three A’s at A Level. She has secured a Nursing Apprenticeship at Hull Royal Infirmary’s Neurology department. Abby shared, “I chose Career 6 because of the balanced approach between exams and coursework and the small class sizes.”

Also celebrating their success was Ana, who studied the Crime & Society pathway, and is heading to Brighton University to study Psychology and Criminology, with the ambition of becoming a Criminal Psychologist. Ana said, “Some parts of the course were really challenging, but I wouldn’t have succeeded without the support of my tutors.”

Paul Brackenbury, Head of Area Community and Professional Services, praised the students for their achievements: “I would like to congratulate all our students on their grades this year. In what has been an extraordinary year, many have overcome significant barriers to learning and are now progressing to their chosen universities or careers. Our Applied Science pathway recorded a 100% pass rate, while the Forensics and Criminology programme delivered a 90% achievement rate, with 78% of those gaining triple distinction grades. Our A-Level Criminology students achieved a remarkable 97% pass rate, and many are excited to begin their higher education journeys.”

Paul continued, “All Career 6 staff join me in wishing our students all the best in their next steps.”
