Carl Bee, Grimsby Institute’s Deputy Principal for Further Education and Apprenticeships, officially welcomed the 2023 graduates and proud family members to the much-anticipated event at the University Centre,
Guests at the event showed their delight with cheering and clapping as their loved ones collected their qualifications from their awarding body, which included TEC Partnership awards and other awards conferred by Principal Guest and Chair of Connected Coast, Chris Baron and University of Hull awards conferred by Deborah Robinson, Interim Dean Faculty of Health Services.
I am extremely proud to hold the graduation ceremony on campus at the University Centre Grimsby. To be here today to mark our students’ success and to see them celebrate with their family and friends in this iconic building is wonderful. I wish them all success in the future, and I am sure they will go on to have successful careers.

Daniel White celebrated winning the William Northam Award for Outstanding Achievement (BSc) Hons Top Up (Electrical and Electronic Engineering). Daniel has recently secured a position with Drax Global, he said:
I have always wanted a career in engineering, and doing my degree at UCG has given me the skills and confidence I needed. The tutors were great; the insight they gave us into the industry and the knowledge they shared with us was invaluable. I got so much support, and UCG has helped me get where I want to be.
Following their ceremony graduates and guests enjoyed a drinks reception with live music. Special guests included the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of North East Lincolnshire, Alex Baxter and the Mayor, Mayoress and Deputy Mayor of North East Lincolnshire Council.
Higher Education at the University Centre Grimsby is built on partnerships with the University of Hull and other national validating bodies.
