Whether you’re travelling from across town or a nearby village, getting here is easy. Grimsby Institute offers free coach travel for qualifying school leavers from many local areas, and we’re just a short ride from Grimsby Town train station.

You can also get here by bus, bike or car, with free parking on campus. If you’re unsure about the best way to get in, just ask. We’ll help you find the route that works for you.

Yes. Depending on your circumstances, there are different ways we can help.

Grimsby Institute offers a range of support schemes to help with the cost of college, including the 16–19 Bursary, free college meals and help with travel, kit, equipment or childcare. There’s also extra support available for vulnerable young people and tailored funds for students aged 19+ or those taking out Advanced Learner Loans.

There’s always help here if you need it, whether that’s with your course, your wellbeing or anything else going on in life.

You can book one-to-one advice on things like study skills, course progression, finance, travel and childcare with our Student Support team at Nuns Corner. There’s also a dedicated counselling and wellbeing service, available 24/7, with free access to confidential support, helplines and live chat.

We know everyone’s different and whatever support looks like for you, we’ll make sure you can get to where you need to be.

Loads. Grimsby’s Nuns Corner campus has industry-standard workshops, labs and creative studios for everything from construction and engineering to media, art and science. You’ll train in real working spaces, like our brand-new Animal Management Centre, commercial hair & beauty salons or student-run restaurant. There’s also a full sports centre, gym and chill-out zones for when you need a breather.

Plenty. Many of our students move on to degree-level study right here on campus at University Centre Grimsby, while others go straight into work or an apprenticeship. We’ll help you figure out what’s next, whether it’s a job, a degree or something entirely different. You won’t be doing it alone.
