Higher Education Work Based and Learning Finding Placements
It is imperative that when finding placements, either in person or by telephone, that professional standards are maintained from the outset.
Finding Placements by telephone
Prior to making a telephone enquiry, please ensure all relevant information is at hand so that conversations can be concise and accurate. Adapting the principle of ‘who, what, where, when and why’ will inform potential placement providers of necessary factors needed in order for them to make informed decisions regarding the offering of a placement.
Finding Placements In person
In accordance with the above, clear concise information regarding course criteria and placement requisites will be necessary in order to fully inform potential placement providers. Presentation, appearance and conduct should be maintained throughout any professional engagement with potential providers, thus illustrating proficiency and professionalism.
When a placement has been confirmed students must inform the work based learning team immediately by completing and submitting the Request work placement authorisation form; in order for relevant documentation to be completed prior to the commencement of placement.
