About This Course
The part-time programme is suitable for those wanting to pursue a career in teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector; that is teaching students age 14 years and above. The programme is part-time and suitable for those who are currently employed in a teaching role.
This is a two-year course.
Applicants will require Level 3 qualification in subject specialist area and GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (or equivalent) or a Level 3 qualification in any area and 2 years’ experience in their proposed field of teaching and GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (or equivalent). Applicants must be in work (paid or otherwise) delivering substantial teaching or training in a related sector to participate in this programme. Their organisation must support the programme through provision of time to attend the sessions and in the supply of a mentor for the trainee

Following this course, trainees can progress into a professional teaching role within the Lifelong Learning Sector. This course also allows for progression to QTLS status.
