L3 Ext Dip Animal Management
The Level 3 Technical Certificate in Animal Care will help prepare you for different careers within the animal care industry, as is the progression route from Level 2 Technical. This course will progress learners wanting to manage a pet shop assistant, a zookeeper or work in rescue centres. This course sets you up for a career in the animal industry. This course uses a balance of theory and practice to help you develop the skills and know how to confidently work with a range of species, from small to large mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. You will learn how to maintain animal health and welfare and how to care for feeding and accommodation routines.
You will explore animal behaviour and correct handling techniques, along with ensuring Health & Safety, Anatomy, Research Writing, Wildlife and Kennel & Cattery management (modules may vary as this course be taken as a one or two year programme). This course has a combination of theory and practical work. Work experience is also mandatory.
Technical qualifications are mainly exam based, however you will also have course work throughout the year. This course can be used to help progress to university.
5 GCSE Grades 4 or above.
Must include: Math's, English and ideally Science.
