Digital Production Design and Development T-Level

About This Course

The T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development is a two-year qualification which will include core content and an occupational specialism that is specific to the computing/IT industry. One of the great things about this course is that you will work directly with employers and spend 20% of the course in a work environment. By the end of the course, you will have a portfolio of work at a professional standard. This course is suitable for anyone wanting a career in software production and design. Learners can progress into roles such as web developer, web designer, IT business analyst, app developer or digital marketer. The occupational specialism content will allow you to develop the relevant skills in preparation for your career in the digital industry. The occupational specialism is assessed through an industry-standard software development project based on a provided client brief. Throughout the occupational specialism you will learn how to do the following: Propose solutions by defining requirements and acceptance criteria aligned to user needs Design interfaces, data storage and algorithms required for a proposed solution Develop complete bespoke systems to meet business needs using a multitude of programming languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and SQL. Gather user feedback to inform a written evaluation of the project A substantial industry placement with a range of employers within the creative industry will build on your skills and technical knowledge.

  • Digital environments (networking and PC builds)
  • Cyber security
  • Testing

Entry Requirements

Entry requirements for our courses depend on the specific requirements of each Programme of Study and an individual’s previous experience, which will all be discussed during the interview process. The following is a guide as to what you might be expected to achieve to gain entry on to a particular level of a course.4 GCSEs grade 3 or above or equivalent including Maths and English Language.

Work Experience

Learners complete 100 hours of external work experience on this level 2 programme. This is an excellent opportunity, in which the learners will gain valuable work experience, work with employers within the area, and build their industry portfolio.

What Next?

Progression from this programme is to the Level 3 T Level in Digital production, Design and Development or Level 3 in Computing and then to university or employment in the computing industry.
