CITY & GUILDS LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE FOR DOG GROOMING ASSISTANTS

On our Level 2 Dog grooming course we will provide learners with the practical skills and knowledge important for working as a Dog Grooming Assistant. Learners will work for a business which is based in a salon environment.

Within the qualification you have a Practical and theory elements, the Practical is a 3hr session once a week thought-out the year as well as a 2hr Theory session in an evening.

The units that you will cover are:

• Assess behaviour, identify breed, lift and move using relevant restraints and handling.
• Basic health check, identify key anatomical points, type of coat and prepare dog for  bathing.
• Bathing, drying, nail and ear care.
• Trimming to prepare for styling
• Cleaning the salon and equipment Learners will have the opportunity to move onto Level 3 after gaining their Level 2 qualification.
