Certificate in Practical Animal Care Skills

Grimsby Insitute’s Animal Care course is a particularly hands-on experience. During your time on this course, you’ll develop an understanding of new Innovations in different areas of the industry and how sustainability can be contributed to at all levels.

The animal care department is equipped with a range of professional working environments, reflecting the diversity of the industry, including a wide range of different animals - both indoors and outdoors. Our facilities include a mock veterinary practice room, commercial dog grooming parlour, commercial canine day kennels and a Blue Cross cattery. 

We also provide the opportunity for you to hear from guest speakers and take part in enriching trips and visits. Past trips have included industry days working as zookeepers and visits to farms, zoos and areas of conservation.
