Art & Design
You really get to find out how you work as an artist or designer and what you’re good at
Level 1
Level 2
Level 3
You will study a range of subjects such as fine art, painting, printmaking, sculpture, digital photography, ceramics, fashion, textiles, graphic communication, illustration and character design. This gives you lots of knowledge to help you pick what you’d like to specialise in for your future career. You really get to find out how you work as an artist or designer and what you’re good at.
You even get to listen to guest speakers on a regular basis that inspire you along the way, and you can keep up with the local artists and designers when they exhibit their work here in our School of Art building.
Alongside great facilities, the creative faculty has amazing events throughout the year.
Level 3 learners will even have the opportunity to be a part of our Erasmus+ programme. This will give you the chance to study abroad for three weeks with an international creative arts school for FREE!
To break it down for you, you will follow one of two pathways. If you’re into drawing, illustration, painting, printmaking, graphic design and Photoshop digital skills and concept art, then you will follow the Communication Pathway, which also involves ideas and concepts exploration within fine art projects. If making things is your thing then you’ll follow the 2D and 3D Pathway, which will allow you to work on design solutions and craft work, working in woods, metals and plastics as well as ceramics and textile fibre.
The Level 1 programme in this area includes photography, computing, games, graphics and TV production with the chance to progress to level 2 in one of these areas in the future.
