ABC LEVEL 2 CERTIFICATE IN ANIMAL NURSING ASSISTANTS
The aim of this Level 2 Certificate in Animal Nursing Assistant course is to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge required to support qualified veterinary staff in a busy veterinary clinic or hospital as a Veterinary Nurse Assistant.
During the course you will learn the practical skills and the underpinning knowledge for all aspects of work in an assisting role within a veterinary practice, including:
- Animal handling and health
- First aid care
- Infection Control and Parasitology
- Animal Nutrition and Feeding
- Client Care and Support
- Animal Accommodation
- Basic Pharmacy Skills & Delivery of treatments
- Anatomy & Physiology
This course uses a balance of theory and practice to help you develop the skills and know how to confidently work with a range of species, from small to large mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. You will learn how to maintain animal health and welfare and how to care for feeding and accommodation routines.
This course will consist of coursework and an exam. Under 19s will also require to complete work experience.
