How To Borrow From Us

Before you can borrow books from the Learning Centres you will need a student ID card which you can get from Student Records. Once you’ve got your ID card your details are automatically entered into our system, within 24 hours. You must have your ID card to borrow any items.

Students on FE and HE courses may borrow up to 6 books at any one time; the limit for MA students is 8.

Remember Don't let anyone else use your card. You are responsible for all books issued on your ticket.

There are 2 week, 1 week and 3 day loans as well as reference copies of books.

Renewing items which you have on loan

Renewals can be made in person, by telephone or online up to a maximum of three times provided they have not been reserved by anyone else.
To renew by phone 01472 311222 Ext. 1322, to renew online go to online library catalogue or use any of the OPACs located in the Learning Centres.

Please note: You cannot renew a book using the self issue system or online if you owe a fine

Reserving a book

If a book is out on loan you can reserve it to be held for you when it is returned. You can do this yourself using the online catalogue system or by asking at the Learning Centre desk.

A member of our staff will phone and let you know when it is available for collection.
