Meet the Tutors

Laura Callaghan I always knew I wanted to travel, but I never envisaged that one day I would be teaching learners about Travel and Tourism. My adventure began here at the Grimsby Institute where I studied Travel and Tourism at college, I then went onto the University Centre Grimsby to study a foundation degree in Tourism and Hospitality Business Management. I took a year out of education to travel and work and then came back to top up my degree to the BA Hons in Tourism Business Management. It was during my time on my degree that I was successful in obtaining a summer placement out in the States. I spent three amazing summers working at Moby Dick's Restaurant, Cape Cod as Front of House Manager. During my time studying I worked in various restaurant and hotels and travelled all over the world. On my return I gained a job at Grimsby College in the Hospitality department as a Learning Practioner within the Gallery Restaurant.

Cassey Wright trained for a Level 3 Travel & Tourism qualification before continuing her education with a BA Travel & Tourism at University Centre Grimsby. During her degree Cassey spent last summer working at Moby Dick’s Seafood Restaurant, located on Cape Cod in Massachesetts, USA, and enjoyed it so much she returned the following year. Cassey said:

“I applied to work at Moby Dick’s because I’d never been on an aeroplane or out of the country before and I thought that working in America would be an amazing opportunity because of their high standards of customer service – it didn’t let me down.”
