Not only are they essential in many careers, they also underpin successful study at all levels, and a proficiency in them can also add immeasurably to an individual’s general quality of life.


The course aims to stimulate a positive attitude to Maths.
It also supports the knowledge, skills and understanding of mathematical methods and concepts, whilst additionally supporting the acquisition and use of problem solving strategies.


The course is designed to help students acquire an understanding of scientific ideas particularly in the area of Biology.
The specification will encourage students to develop their interest in, and enthusiasm for, Biology and to develop a critical approach to scientific evidence and methods and an understanding as to how science works in the world at large and its essential role in society. Practical aspects will be taught in modern, well-equipped laboratories.
